Silas is making decisions about his future. He’s going to marry his friend Emma, and as he told me the other day, “Daddy, when I grow up I want to be a regular old parent like you.” Of course he says lots of things- he concluded one conversation with Molly by saying “And by the way, nice butt…”
I sent back the rental camera last week- decided not to keep it- but then I bought it from a retailer the next day. I don’t regret it at all yet. You almost certainly noted the 4:3 aspect ratio of the photos included below, differing from the 2:3 I’ve always shot and posted. It’s almost waterproof too (though not the lens) which should be useful over the next few days of snow-pocalypse. If only it could shovel our sidewalks for me. I haven’t even dug out my winter coat and snow boots so far this year- guess I’m going up to the attic in the morning.
I’ve kept Asher and Eliza safe and happy this week, without any major mishaps. This is mostly thanks to Eliza being so amicable. Asher keeps hitting new peaks of troublesome- we were at the children’s museum this week, and while we were in the bathroom Asher bolted out the door. It took me a few seconds until I was free to chase him properly, but that was all the time he needed- he was nowhere to be seen. I figured he went to the women’s bathroom, but as I jogged that direction I heard a noise from the janitor’s closet- yep, he had shut himself inside. Not locked though thankfully, but still irritating. He still throws things, eats poorly at dinner and then asked for snacks while he’s laying in his crib, but he’s adorable. He was so hard to put down tonight though, and when I got back to the computer Downton Abbey was on, so I found it hard to concentrate. Soon after Downton ended, Asher woke up screaming and kept it up for 20 minutes- Molly finally talked him down and took him back to bed, the reasons for his screams remaining mysterious, like that fate of that guy in Downton who flew to Germany and maybe got killed. That’s a poor comparison.
Oh snap, looking at the video monitor I see Silas walking around in his pajamas. What on earth. I quit.
