Silas’ swimming lessons are over, but we’re trying to keep his toes in the water. We visited the Goodman Aquatic center over in Verona this week. It’s a salt water pool with no chlorination. You can swim with your eyes open comfortably and don’t feel bleached afterward. That pool is in the middle of nowhere and looks out over woods and pastures. We met up with Kalea, Megan, and Chris there and had a few hours fun. He flails across the water really well, but still can’t blow bubbles or stay on his back for long.
Our packing and prettying the house continues, featuring a 12 round bout recaulking the shower. I won by knockout… I think…. I haven’t tried the shower yet so the joke could be on me. Molly’s out mowing the lawn and we just picked up Babbee from the airport, who’s staying for a couple days, watching after Silas while we clean things up. We’re having open houses both Saturday and Sunday this weekend, trying to sell off this house. I bought two bottles of wine as door prizes, a Gigondas and Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and we made up some postcards in Illustrator, sticking them up around town, and handing out a few. If you know anyone who may be shopping for a home in Madison, send them here. http://www.110cumberlandlane.blogspot.com I was amazed to see the other listed open houses all run from 1-3pm, coinciding almost perfectly with the World Cup soccer finals on Sunday. We’re starting at noon so people can make it, and I can go watch the game.
Silas popped tooth number eight yesterday; not much drama there.
We had breakfast this morning with the Nussbaum Waglers and Silas squared off across the table with Henry. Silas pounded two waffles and half a banana. He hardly stopped to scream.
Below we have a picture of us at the pool, as he splashed us silly.
“What new thing could I now eat with all eight teeth?” Congrats Silas!
