Yours would hurt too if you had it wiped about a dozen times an hour. Silas is sick at home again, and I’m starting to suspect he’s lactose intolerant. He gets sick, we lay off the dairy, then he gets better, so we give him some milk, and the cycle repeats. I don’t really care if that’s the case, I’d just like for his butt to stop hurting, as I’m sure he does as well. We’ve taken to using the shower head now for cleaning up.
School went well for Silas this week, although it was only three days I guess. Monday they were closed in the morning due to a power failure, so Silas stayed home. I don’t think we’ve made it there five days in a week yet.
We received about 1mm of snow this week, and it didn’t stick.. So far Silas has gotten 45 minutes of use from his new snow pants this winter. And his new hockey skates (thrift store) are sitting unloved. We’re going out to visit Derek, Tina, and the kids in Pittsburgh next week, so we’ll pack the skates, as they’ve got an ice-rink nearby. It will be Silas’ second outing. I’m guessing it will be about as successful as his effort last year.
Last weekend Shannon and Macavan (upstairs neighbors) had a big brunch with all the staff, as a celebration for their impending move to South Philly. The food was delicious, and I ate three days worth of breakfasts. As usual, the kids have a way of getting attention. Paxton and Silas take center stage in the below picture.
I shot photos of Susan Douglas, a leading feminist author and speaker, on campus the other day. I’m working my way up the learning curve, and following each shoot I explain to Molly what additional equipment would make the job easier. She humors me. As if it’s vitally important. I’m not blaming my tools, just explaining that there are some other sweet tools out there, and life is short. More to follow on that thread next week.
Molly has not felt tip-top , so it’s especially gracious of her to humor me. I was going to say she should be the one staying home today, to catch up on her rest, except taking care of Silas this morning was no Club-Med. Thank goodness for the weekend.
Silas passed out a bit ago while playing the key-tar in the living room. He was rocking out pretty hard, plus he’s out of calories I think, so might get a good nap out of this.
Oh yeah, we have two new hamsters. They’re tiny robo hamsters (that’s the real name.) Molly suggested we buy the last two they had, so as to not break up the pair, in case they were friends. They seem friendly enough, and they’re entertaining, but I haven’t picked them up yet, or put them in the ball. They’re quick little guys, so I’m a bit scared of losing them. The could probably squirm out under the door too, which Lenny was too big to do. I’ll try to get them in front of the camera by next week.

Poor little guy, I hope he is well soon ! Thanks for the posts Adam, hopefully all of you will get some rests this weekend. love you !
